Summer is waving goodbye to us here in the Rocky Mountain west… and autumn is on our doorstep.
As the days grow shorter, and the nights get cooler, there’s a temptation to move the party inside at times. Folks may not get as much use out of their outdoor living space as they did a month or two ago… and it’s often with some regret that we bid farewell to those lovely summer evenings out on the deck.
But that warm-weather enjoyment doesn’t have to come to an abrupt halt!
Many of your neighbors here along the Front Range have discovered the joy of an awning-covered outdoor space. They “have it made in the shade” even during the most blistering sunny days, and they enjoy the added beauty (and property value) they get from a retractable awning system.
(And those same neighbors also enjoy the energy savings they get when the awning keeps things about twenty degrees cooler on the deck or patio… and takes the “heat” off the air conditioning system, too!)
There are ornate fire-pit options, as well, which can bring enough warmth to your outdoor space to keep things nice and comfortable during the cooler evenings (but don’t generate enough heat to damage the awning overhead).
And if it’s darkness that’s driving you indoors, here’s great news: you can likely add LED lights to your awning system, and keep things bright and festive in your outdoor living space all the way to bedtime!
LED Awning Lights: An Exciting New Trend
Adding lights to retractable awning systems is a popular choice, and it’s only becoming more popular as the longer autumn evenings draw nearer.
Folks who make the wise decision to cover their patio or deck with a retractable awning system now have the option to add LED lights… and those who add lights are consistently glad they did.
You’ll see a growing number of online reviews from customers who considered passing on the addition of LED lights, only to be thrilled that they went ahead with this simple-but-impactful upgrade.
Many of these reviews follow a familiar pattern:: “We almost didn’t go with the LED lights, but we’re sure glad we did… we can’t do without them… we spend more time out there now every day and evening.”
Here’s what customer Tammy took the time to post on the Best Awning Company Facebook page recently:
Best investment we have ever made!
We have had our awning for a little over a month,
and spend as much time sitting on the deck… as we can.
We are glad we changed our minds on the LED lights and bought them… they are a must!
Allows us to enjoy the evening outside.
[Best Awning Company] is very professional and accommodating.
They are a five-star company, and I highly recommend them.
Of course, I appreciate the praise of our 40-year-old awning company… we always relish the chance to earn great reviews like this. But you can see the excitement Tammy and her family have, not just for the awning itself, but for the LED lighting system they decided to add.
Most retractable awning systems can include LED lights. In many cases, you can get dimmable lights, so the mood can always be “just right.” And they’re generally not extremely costly: you can usually add LEDs to an awning system for a few hundred dollars – not a huge increase in the investment in the awning itself. And all the good reasons to add a retractable awning (beauty, property value, energy savings, and comfort among them) are greatly enhanced when you add lights. It’s truly a “bright idea!”
